Teams Qualified For FIFA Club World Cup 2016

Here are the teams qualified for FIFA Club World Cup 2016 which will be played in Japan in the month of December. The 13th edition of Football Club World Cup will decide which is the best football club in 2016. Spanish football team Football Club Barcelona are the defending champions, but they are not in this edition as Real Madrid won Champions League 2015-16. Being hosts of the competition, Kashima Antlers who won 2016 J1 League qualified for 2016 FIFA Club World Cup. This is their first appearance in this competition. This means there are two teams from AFC Confederation. Given below are total 7 qualified teams.

  1. Atletico Nacional: Qualified as winners of 2016 Copa Libertadores on 27 July 2016
  2. Real Madrid: Qualified as winners of 2015-16 UEFA Champions League on 28 May 2016
  3. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors: Qualified as winners of 2016 AFC Champions League on 26 November 2016
  4. Mamelodi Sundowns: Qualified as winners of 2016 CAF Champions League on 23 October 2016
  5. America: Qualified as winners of 2015-16 CONCACAF Champions League on 27 April 2016
  6. Auckland City: Qualified as winners of 2016 OFC Champions League on 23 April 2016
  7. Kashima Antlers: Qualified as winners of 2016 J1 League on 3rd December 2016
Australian football club Auckland City are playing 8th FIFA Club World Cup. So far they have played it 7 times and yet to win the first title. Teams like Atletico Nacional, Mamelodi Sundowns and Kashima Antlers are playing it for the first time.
From UEFA Confederation, Real Madrid qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup 2016 after winning eleventh Champions League title on 28 May 2016. This is the third appearance of Real Madrid in this championship. The club won it for the first time two years ago when they were playing under Carlo Ancelotti. Zinedine Zidane was the assistant manager during that time. Now, he is the manager of Real Madrid.
Hosts Kashima Antlers and OFC Champions Auckland City will play play-off round. Three teams Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, Mamelodi Sundowns and America will play quarter finals directly. Atletico Nacional and Real Madrid will directly play the semi final round.
