Claudio Ranieri, who won helped Leicester City to win the first ever Premier League title has been sacked by the club after 298 days of title win. The 65 years old manager was awarded with FIFA Best Coach of The Year 2016. After defeat against Spanish club Sevilla, Ranieri was sacked within 24 hours. Being the defending Champions of Premier League, Leicester City have struggled this season. Defeats and draws have ruin their season. Round of 16 Defeat against Sevilla was their first defeat in UEFA Champions League after qualifying to round of 16 as Group Winners.

Ranieri was appointed as the manager of Leicester City in July 2015 with a four year contract. In his debut season, the manager took Leicester City to incredible glory of Premier League for which he was awarded with best coach of the year award.
Leicester City have not won any Premier League game in last six fixtures. They have lost five of them and drew once. Shocking figures reveals that they have not scored any goal in last six games and this is very tough to accept for Premier League Champions.

The club said “His status as the most successful Leicester City manager of all time is without question. However, domestic results in the current campaign have placed the club’s Premier League stats under threat.”

Former Leicester City striker Gary Lineker said “After all that Claudio Ranieri has done for Leicester City, to sack him now is inexplicable, unforgivable and gut-wrenchingly sad.”
Leicester City showed great support for Ranieri in August when they gave a contract extension for the Italian manager. But vice chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said it was in the best interests of the club for 65 year old to be dismissed.
Right now, Leicester City are at 17th spot in Premier League standings and just one point above the relegation zone. In 25 Premier League games, the Foxes have won just five of them, lost 14 and drew 6 times. For scoring 24 goals in 25 games, they conceded 43 in return.
