Manchester City Plot £100m Bid For Barcelona’s Lionel Messi

The five times World best footballer Lionel Messi have not received any renewal contract from his club so far. This has activated some top European clubs to sign a new deal for Lionel Messi. Among those clubs, Premier League giants Manchester City have plotted a bid of £100 million for the Argentine striker. City believes that Messi is ready to leave his childhood club. Messi revealed his desire to play under the management of Pep Guardiola.

Jorge, father of Lionel Messi also known as his adviser is to look after Business – but has no plans to talk to the club about extending a contract that now has less that 16 months to run. Both Luis Suarez and Neymar have extended their contract with Barcelona and only Messi yet to extend his contract.

The all time top goal scorer of Barcelona is currently earning £20 million per year after tax. Club cannot spend more than 70% on their income on wages. Camp Nou chiefs are aware that they are approaching the end of an era and that a major team restructure is required.

Although Messi revealed his desire to play under Pep Guardiola, but the Spanish manager have not any intentions to join Barcelona again. Manchester City are confident that will not happen. They are certain that Guardiola will honour the remaining two and a half years of his contract and now expect him to stay beyond 2019.

At the Camp Nou, Messi have already won 8 La Liga titles, 3 Champions League titles and so many individual awards. City Sergio Aguero who could be another reason for Lionel Messi to join the Argentine forward.
