Jorge Sampaoli is the new Head Coach of Argentina National Football Team: Former Chile and Sevilla FC manager Jorge Sampaoli has been named as new manager of Argentina. The manager signed a 5 years deal with Argentina. He was presented on Thursday evening at the headquarters of Argentina Football Association in Ezeiza, Buenos Aires. After dismissing Edgardo Bauza in April, Argentina had been without any coach.

Sampaoli holds great experience as a manager, but he has managed only one National Team i.e. Chile. He assisted Chile to win the first ever Copa America title in 2015 that booked a ticket of FIFA Confederations Cup scheduled to be held this year in Russia.
On being the coach of Argentina, Sampaoli said “This is a dream come true, one that I had desired for some time. I always admired this place. I thank the [AFA] President for his patience. The contract is through to the 2022 World Cup. I hope we can do something important for Argentine people.”
In last three major tournaments [FIFA World Cup 2014, Copa America 2015 and 2016], Argentina have qualified for final in each competition. But, they lost all finals with their previous managers. About the team and history of Argentina Football he said
“We have to build a team that respects the history of Argentine football. There are more than 100 players being monitored. What we want is for those players that wear this jersey to expose the quality they have.”
“I’m surrounded by very capable people. This national team is not of a group of players but of 40 million Argentines. We need to have a starring role.”
Under the guidance of Jorge Sampaoli, Argentina will play first game against Uruguay on 31st August. Uruguay are currently at third place with one point more than Argentina. The manager has managed lots of Football Clubs including Sevilla which was the last club he managed. His biggest success came in 2015 when Chile won their first ever Copa America title after winning the final against Argentina.
While managing Universidad de Chile, he won Torneo Apertura twice, Torneo Clausura and Copa Sudamericana. In 2015, he was named as South American coach of the year.
