Two times Champions and defending winners of Africa Cup of Nations have announced team squad roster for Africa Cup of Nations 2017. Wilfried Zaha who is playing for Premier League club Crystal Palace is also named in the list of team squad roster. The player played for England also. The arrival of Zaha looks like a positive point for the national football team. Team head coach said “Gervinho’s absence weighs down on us, for sure. But we have had several weeks to get used to the idea,” Dussuyer said. “The arrival of Zaha is therefore great news. His profile is similar to Gervinho’s. One of the challenges facing us in camp will be that some of the players will be rested and others – those playing in England – will be tired and in need of some rest.”

Defending Champions Ivory Coast are in Group C with DR Congo, Morocco and Togo. Their Africa Cup of Nations 2017 begins on 16th Jan against Togo at Stade d’Oyem. Another team Gabon also announced team squad for AFCON 2017.

This is how Ivory Coast won the Triumph in 2015

Group Stage: Ivory Coast were the only undefeated team in the Africa Cup of Nations 2015. They won two and drew once in group games.
Quarter final: In knock out round [quarter final], they played against Algeria and secured a comfortable win of 3-1. Bony scored brace and former Arsenal and Roma player Gervinho scored one goal. For Algeria Soudani scored single goal.
Semi Final: Ivory Coast maintained their dominant form and won big against semi finalist DR Congo. They netted three goals and conceded just one via penalty. For Ivory Coast, Yaya Toure, Gervinho and Kanon netted each goal, while Mbokani scored for DR Congo from the spot.
Final: It was probably the toughest and best game of AFCON 2015. Both teams failed to break the deadlock even after extra time. The result was declared on penalties in which Gahan scored 8 and Ivory Coast scored nine.
