When Will Semi Finals Of FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 Be Played

FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 has surpassed group stage and is set for semi final round. Out of eight teams, four teams are left for the knock out round scheduled to be held on 28 and 29 June 2017. European Champions Portugal will play against South American Champions Chile in first semi final. The second semi final will be played on 29th June between World Champions Germany and Central American Champions Mexico. Given below are the match dates and timing of Confed Cup 2017 Semi Finals.

Being winners of Group A, Portugal qualified for the semi final of Confederations Cup in their debut. After first draw against Mexico, the Navigators won both games and finished Group A on top. Although Mexico also had seven points [equals to points of Portugal], but based on goal difference, Portugal were group winners. Portugal vs Chile will be the first official meeting in Football history as both teams have played only one head to head.

One win and two draws in Group games made Chile runners up of Group B. La Roja had perfect start in Confederations Cup with 2-0 victory over Cameroon. But, two back to back draws costed them four points.

2nd Semi Final: Germany Vs Mexico

Joachim Low took risk of letting most of his side stay away from Confederations Cup and allowed his young squad to play the Championship. The youngsters didn’t disappoint him and played great Football throughout the group stage. They begun the campaign with 3-2 win against Socceroos then played draw against Chile. Last win against Cameroon assured them a place in Semi Final.

One of the most experience teams of this competition, Mexico didn’t lose any game at group stage. El Tri came from behind in last last two games to grab three points in each game. Mexico scored six goals in last three games, but conceded four goals that put them at second place in Group A.
