FIFA Confederations Cup 2017: Groups, Standings, Points Table, Matches

The FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 will be played between 8 National Football Teams which are divided into two groups of 4 teams each. It is also called as “Tournament of Champions” as it is played by 6 Champions of each confederation with hosts and World Cup Winners. Few, months ago, FIFA unveiled prize money amount of Confederations Cup 2017. Here we sharing the info about groups, standings, points table and upcoming matches of the competition. For the first time in history Russia will host this tournament which means they’ll also compete for the title in June this year.

As discussed earlier, all eight teams of FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 are divided into two groups – Group A and Group B. Hosts are in Group A, whereas World Champions are in Group B.

Group A teams: Russia, New Zealand, Portugal and Mexico

Group B teams: Cameroon, Chile, Australia and Germany

Each team will play round robin games against their group rivals. Three points will be given to winning team and a point will be given to both teams on draw. Top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi final round. Winner of Group one will play against Runners-up of other group in semi finals.
