The winner of Africa Cup of Nations 2017 will now receive 166% more money as compared to that of previous edition. The Confederation of African Football [CAF] have announced the prize money distribution of AFCON 2017. The championship is being played among 16 best national African football teams in Gabon. Africa Cup of Nations 2017 Prize Money For Winners, Runners-up and Others
The Confederation of African Football championship have announced that winner of AFCON 2017 will receive total of $4 million winning prize money. This is 166% increase in prize money from last edition. Also, second place team or you can say runners-up will also get a whopping amount of $2 million.

Few months ago, CAF completed an eight year deal with its new sponsor “French Petroleum group total”. After completed this record deal, CAF decided to increase the winning amount of prize money for Africa Cup of Nations 2017. According to reports, the new sponsor deal with the oil giant and CAF has been done at an approximate amount of $1 billion.

Also, Confederation of African Football increased prize money of CAF Champions League. It was giving $1.5 million to CAF Champions League, but now they are giving $2.5 million which is 90% more. Winners of CAF Champions will now get $1.25 million which was $660,000.
